Installed on a 2005 Tacoma.
Install was simple with easy to follow instructions. My truck was a little different then the directions but no big deal. Everything fits in and works fine, very clean install.
Hard to tell if there is a performance gain. It seems like I use less pedal and it feels more responsive. It seems like my boat pulls a little easier too. I would not argue the 10 hp gain.
If you like your quiet truck, this is not for you. When you get on the pedal or are going up hill, it can get really loud! However, in most normal driving it's not that noticable. Personally I like the growl!
It's not advertised to save fuel, but mine does. I get about 2 mpg more then before. I watch my miles pretty close and do the math at each fill up. Before install I got 19-20mpg consistently, now I get 21-22 (3-4 fill ups now).
Overall I'm very happy with it and would reccomend it to anyone looking to add more horsepower, save money on future air filters, and save some gas money.

This product was a joy to install. It included every part needed, a clear, concise photo detailed step-by-step procedure, and even a list of the simple tools required. All parts were of the highest quality and the installation fit was equal to or better than factory original.
It operates just as advertised, however without a engine dyno it hard to qualify horsepower but the acceleration pull feels stronger than stock, albeit with a healthy intake roar. Not for the timid.

It took about an hour to install, the instructions aren't that well written. You do have to be somewhat technically savvy to understand/comprehend how to take the OEM intake off and then put the K&N kit on.
The K&N kit does make the truck growl and emits a rumbling noise w/o buying an expensive flowmaster package. I have custom rims but same size tires on my truck, because of the rims are 1" bigger, the tires are flatter (more ground surface) but based on gas mileage, the K&N kit has helped maintain the 18/20 gas miles on the road. After installing the K&N kit, when I did tow our 1,500lb camper or boat this summer I hardly noticed I was pulling anything and hardly no hesitation during passing. Overall, it's a great product that has helped on gas and improved power. I have a 2005 Tacoma TRD, Auto V6.

Excellent performance gain, I could feel the HP on wide open throttle. It sounds awesome and solid. I'm glad to purchase and install KN air intake system. Highly recommended if you have a TACOMA!! I also increased my gas mileage by 2-3 miles on normal driving...

Great throttle response! You can really notice by increasing speed using cruise control. It's instantaneous! I haven't seen fuel economy differ thus far.
