By eglin duong Installed it on a 98 4Runner. I purchased matching ranchos frt struts and rear shocks. I like the ride so far. I would like it a bit more stiffer on the road but I guess it's cool when I go off-road. It just works, now only time will tell if it will last!
For this generation 4Runner, I found it very annoying to remove the rear shocks. Very difficult to reach the top nut. This was my 2nd 4Runner I changed the rear shocks on and both times I totally destroyed the old shocks by the time they were removed.
Oh well, that was just my experience. Maybe I'll upgrade to air tools next time.

Hard ride compared to my old stock Toyota shocks and then there's this vinyl cover which come with it with no instructuctions or a way to fasten it so I had to improvise and use tye wraps and still have a noise when I'm over sixty MPH,A loud rattling noise that even mechanics can't figure out. I even uninstalled my trailer hitch thinking that was the problem.
I've learned NEVER to use anything other than stock TOYOTA parts!
